Microdermabrasion…chemical peels…if you’re not an expert these can sound quite scary. But in the hands of experts, such as our professionals at Aesthetics of Essex, you’ll be armed with all the information and reassurance you need to achieve a fresh, new look.
We offer both these procedures at our clinic in Upminster and, as with all our products and treatments, before we decide to offer them, we carry out detailed research. We want our Aesthetics of Essex customers to look and feel good, but not at the expense of putting them through anything risky. Nor will we simply go for the newest, most exciting-sounding treatments. They have to produce great results in the most painless and risk-free manner possible.

Microdermabrasion VS Chemical Peels
But, to summarise, microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, mechanical skin resurfacing procedure which removes the outer layer of skin to leave it looking younger and healthier.
A chemical peel is a different form of exfoliation, using a chemical solution instead. The practitioner applies an enzyme or alpha hydroxy acid solution to the skin to promote the turnover of skin cells. This either dissolves the bonds holding the cells together or chemically ‘wounds’ the cells to encourage renewal.
After mechanical exfoliation, such as microdermabrasion, you’ll see the effects instantly, but with the results of a chemical peel won’t be visible for a few days.
