The demand for Botox and other non-surgical treatments (such as dermal fillers, mole removal and thread lifts) is on the rise! A study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology showed nearly 200 patients treated with Botox for five or more continuous years – between 1999 to 2012 – received at least one treatment each year for frown lines.

Our skin tells our life story. It shows whether we are healthy, or if we have had a life with lots of outdoor activity and exposure to ultraviolet sun rays, and most importantly our age. So, its no surprise that looking fresh faced and youthful is ever growing in importance.

Because our skin is our most aging facial feature, knowing what we can do to enhance it and reduce facial lines is bound to come in handy. Wrinkle treatments are one way of doing this. The procedure involves a series of line and wrinkle injections that relax the muscles in the treatment area; reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

According to a report published online by JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, Botox (wrinkle injections) can increase skin pliability and elasticity which mimic those of more youthful skin and produces the best results when treating mild facial wrinkles.

Botox Treatment Areas

Botox is primarily used for cosmetic purposes as a skin rejuvenation or anti-aging treatment, however, can also be used to treat medical conditions such as Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

The most popular treatment areas for Botox are:
– Frown lines – these lines can give a person an angry or sad appearance. Fortunately Botox can be used to temporarily reverse this and last up to 4 months.
– Forehead wrinkles – forehead lines can cause you to look tired. Botox in this area recreates a smooth and natural look again and improves your aesthetic appearance.
– Laughter lines or crows feet – Botox helps your muscle relax, which means there’s with less need for squinting and crinkling around your eyes.

To ensure you are a suitable candidate for our line and wrinkle treatment an initial consultation will be carried out in our clinic.
It is not recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women have botulinum treatments. Additionally, anyone with a neuromuscular disorder should not have botulinum injections.
