Treating Rosacea

Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes embarrassing red rashes to appear on the surface of the skin, particularly the face. The skin becomes sensitive, and small papules and pus spots may form. Unfortunately there is no cure for Rosacea, however it’s not all bad news as there are ways of controlling the flare ups, scarring, and spots through a range of non-surgical treatments that we offer.

Problematic Skin

Living with a noticeable skin condition can weigh down heavily on your self-confidence and bank balance. You may find yourself waiting in a que, ready to try yet another ineffective drugstore treatment for acne spots and inflammation, or the persistent facial redness of Rosacea causing you to feel embarrassed and anxious in social situations. Poor skin can even hinder career opportunities as studies show below:

A survey conducted online in the US showed that Rosacea sufferers are more likely to be perceived in a negative light when judged on first impressions than those with clearer skin. 22% were likely to be seen as shy or quiet, and 18% nervous compared to those with a flawless complexion – who were perceived to be more outgoing and charismatic. Why? The harsh truth is that we live in a world where appearances are one of the most important factors that help us to assess a person’s character, and our attitude towards them. First appearances help us to determine whether someone is suited or not to a vacant job role, or whether you choose to avoid or form relationships with that person. It’s no wonder why the condition of our skin plays an important role in our self-image and self-esteem. Without proper treatment, Rosacea and acne can worsen over time and potentially lead to depression.

Curing Rosacea and Acne Scars

As we’ve mentioned before, there isn’t a cure for Rosacea; however there are medications available – such as Antibiotics that can be taken orally or applied – which can be prescribed to you if you’ve been diagnosed with Rosacea by your GP.

If you experience one or more of the symptoms listed below, you may have developed this skin condition. We would recommend you see your GP to get a diagnosis before attempting to treat it yourself, alternatively you can give us a call and book your free consultation.

Rosacea Symptoms:
– Redness
– Burning
– Flushing
– Sore eyes
– Acne – raised pus spots and small papules
– Visible thread veins
If you’re looking for further treatment, which will help manage the symptoms and achieve clearer skin, why not consider what we have to offer? We perform a range of skin treatments that will rejuvenate, soothe and improve the appearance of your skin. These range from Chemical Skin Peels – which are anti-bacterial, and strip the top layer of skin to reveal the new, healthy layers beneath – to Dermaroller skin resurfacing, and pharmaceutical Skin Care regimes.

Of course, the severity of the condition will depend on what treatments are suitable for you, our team are happy to assist you with this, and provide you with further information during your free consultation.
