No sweat with Aesthetics of Essex treatment

Everybody loves the summer time – but the thrill of the beach and the barbecue (and, on the downside, commuting on a hot train) isn’t the same if you suffer from excessive sweating.

The amount we sweat varies from person to person and for many of us, anti-perspirants do the trick. But an unlucky minority of people suffer from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

With hyperhidrosis it isn’t as simple as just sweating because you’re anxious or being active. It is caused by an involuntary action of the sympathetic nervous system and even the strongest anti-perspirants won’t make a dent in the problem.

Of course, suffering from hyperhidrosis can make you more anxious and many people go through mental agonies when preparing for a social or business situation, sometimes avoiding them altogether if they can.

It’s not just us ordinary mortals who get the sweats. They may not necessarily all have hyperhidrosis, but even some of entertainment’s best don’t always look their best, as you can see if you follow this link to the Buzzfeed website:

So, how can Aesthetics of Essex help you? The good news is that we have a simple treatment that, in due course, can reverse the unpleasant symptoms of hyperhidrosis in the armpits.

The treatment is quick and fairly painless, involving Botulinum Toxin A injections to the underarms. Aesthetics of Essex Senior Nurse Debbie Mills, who carries out the treatment, will also give you a free consultation beforehand. She’ll find out exactly where the sweating is at its worst and check that you have no health problems that may interfere with the treatment. We don’t currently give this treatment to hands or feet.

The injections block the nerve endings so the sweat glands can’t produce any more sweat. This stops excessive sweating for around 5-8 months. Within 6-12 weeks your body will start to produce new nerve endings which receive the message to turn on those particular sweat glands, so you’ll experience mild sweating again. But don’t be alarmed! Within the 5-8 month period all the new nerve endings have been produced, will receive the message to turn on the sweat glands again, sweating returns to normal levels and the treatment is finished!
