My name is Gitana and I am an advanced nurse practitioner/prescriber with over 20 years of work experience within the NHS. As the founder of Journey of a Woman, I specialise in medical consultations to support women through all stages of menopause. Hormonal imbalance can be confusing and challenging time, silently affecting quality of life. During the initial one-hour consultation, we will discuss your symptoms and concerns, explore hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options, consider testosterone therapy and contraception (if necessary) and review alternative options, lifestyle changes and any required investigations.
Additionally, I can conduct Well Woman Health Check to ensure a comprehensive approach to your health and wellbeing. This will involve a wide range of blood tests (full blood count, liver, kidney, thyroid function, cholesterol, calcium, iron, diabetes check, vitamin B12, vitamin D, oestradiol levels), urine check, blood pressure, weight and BMI check, as well as assessing risks of getting certain health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and kidney issues. Written report and a telephone follow up call to discuss blood test results. Please let me know if you would like to combine Menopause Consultation together with a Well Woman Health Check.
