Hyaluronidase injections at Aesthetics of Essex
If you’d like to dissolve your lip fillers, and return to your natural lip shape, look no further than our anti-ageing clinic in Essex. Whilst fillers can produce beautiful results (in the right hands), we believe that clients should have the right to reverse their cosmetic treatment if they wish to do so.
Perhaps the filler is lasting much longer than anticipated? Maybe it was administered incorrectly and has created a lumpy, uneven finish? Or maybe you just don’t like the way they look? Whatever the reason, we can help. Our team of professional nurse prescribers are medically qualified in hyaluronidase injections – and can carry out the treatment quickly, safely and successfully.
Dissolve your lip fillers today
Lip filler dissolving is a permanent treatment. The filler will not return unless you choose to have further dermal injections in the future. So, it’s important to think carefully about your decision.
Before booking the appointment, we ask all clients to pop into the clinic for an initial consultation. This is a good opportunity for you to ask any questions. The nurse prescriber will talk you through the full procedure, so you know exactly what to expect on the day, and they’ll also conduct a quick patch test – just to check that you’re not allergic to the hyaluronidase formula.
If you’d like to find out more about this injectable treatment, or would like to arrange a consultation, please feel free to get in touch at any time. You can either give us a call on 01708 225555 or send an email to info@aestheticsofessex.co.uk and we’ll respond to your enquiry as soon as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will I see the results of hyaluronidase injections?
The enzyme gets to work very quickly, rapidly breaking down the hyaluronic acid in the dermal filler. As such, you should start to notice the results of lip dissolving within the first 24-48 hours.
But it’s important keep in mind, immediately after the treatment, there may be some slight swelling. This can take a couple of days to settle. Therefore, we usually advise that you allow two weeks for the full results to appear, at which point you will have a review appointment with the nurse.
Is there any downtime?
No, there’s very little downtime with this treatment.
Your lips will be a little tender, swollen and bruised immediately after you’ve received the hyaluronidase injections. But these side effects are usually very minor and will settle quickly over a few days. In fact, most people can return to work and their normal activities the following day.
How long does dissolving take?
Filler dissolving is a relatively quick procedure. The injections themselves only take about 10 minutes. However, you will need to have a consultation and patch test beforehand. You will also be asked to stay in the clinic for a short while after the hyaluronidase injections have been administered, so that our nurse can monitor you for signs of an allergic reaction. Therefore, we recommend that you allow a total of 1 hour 30 minutes for the full appointment.
Will I need only one treatment to dissolve my lip fillers?
The number of treatments will depend on the amount of filler that needs to be dissolved. For some people, one session is enough to dissolve their lip fillers. For others, two or more sessions may be required. Your specific expectations and results will be discussed in detail at the first consultation.
Do hyaluronidase injections hurt?
Lips are a very sensitive part of the face and although lip dissolving is not entirely pain-free, we can apply a numbing cream to the area beforehand to make it as comfortable as possible for you.
Will I bruise?
Bruising is an expected side effect following treatment, and usually settles within 1-2 weeks.
You can reduce this risk by avoiding alcohol and excessive exercise 24 hours before and after your appointment. You are also more likely to bruise if you are taking certain medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen, but it is important that you continue to take any prescribed medication as usual and inform your nurse at your consultation. Full aftercare will be given to you during your appointment.
When can I have lip filler again?
After dissolving lip filler, you will need to wait at least two weeks before you can have them retreated with dermal fillers (hyaluronic acid). This is to ensure there is no hyaluronidase left in the lips, which could potentially break down the new formula and have a negative impact on the results.
