Hair Transplantation is a surgical technique that moves individual hair follicles from a part of the body called the “Donor Site” to the bald or balding part of the body known as the “Recipient Site”. It is primarily used to treat Male Pattern Baldness, Pattern Hair Loss and Premature Balding. Your hair Influences your appearance so much and to many people, the presence of a “normal” hairline is very important. Around 80% of men and 35% of women will experience social and psychological distress due to hair loss at some point in their lives.
Whilst many men have always simply accepted their hair loss – (known as male pattern baldness) recently, more men are becoming more self-conscious about their hairline and hair loss and it does affect their confidence. Additionally, women suffering from pattern hair loss or premature balding are being deeply affected emotionally and in self-confidence too. Female hair loss can also be more difficult to hide or conceal.
We offer two treatments, these are – Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Both treatments are safe and highly successful procedures for regaining natural lost hair in both men and women.
Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) –
A very small amount of hair is removed from the natural donor area, from groupings called follicular units. Under microscopic magnification, grafts are created that keep these natural groupings intact. The grafts are then placed in tiny micro incisions in the bald area, created in a pattern and disruption that mimic nature.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) –
Donor tissue is removed from a broad area of the back of the scalp. A circular incision is made in the skin around the upper part of the follicle which is then extracted directly from the scalp, leaving a small open hole. The advantage of FUE is that it leaves no linear scar.
