Looking for a way to bring back younger skin?
Are traditional facials leaving you wanting more?
Why not try a PRP facial – which could allow you to harness the power of your own plasma and get the results you crave?
You can find vampire facials at our Rayleigh and Maldon clinics, should you wish to book a consultation.
Who needs a PRP facial?
A vampire facial in Essex is suitable for those:
- With very sensitive skin or allergies
- Seeking tighter and smoother skin
- Wanting to reduce the appearance of scarring
- Looking for a reduction in hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tones
To make it possible, Essex-based clinics will use your own blood plasma to rejuvenate the look and feel of your visage.
What happens during a vampire facial?
It all starts with a small blood donation of 10-15ml and a few minutes in a centrifuge. This allows for the separation of the blood products, namely the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the red blood cells themselves.
This plasma is then microneedled or injected back into numbed skin to stimulate collagen, cell regeneration, and tissue repair – giving firmer, smoother skin that just might get you reaching for your ID again.

Get in touchHow long is the downtime after a PRP facial?
You should be able to go back to work and go about your daily routines as normal, using paracetamol and cold compresses to reduce discomfort as needed.
However, after treatment is completed, it is perfectly normal to experience the following symptoms for around 1-3 days:
- Redness and swelling
- Tenderness at the injection or microneedling sites
- Bruising – both at the blood donation point and where the plasma has been reapplied
- Tight or stiff skin

How long till I see the results of a vampire facial?
Generally speaking, you can expect the cosmetic effects to last up to 18 months.
However, the exact timeline of the effects of PRP treatment varies for every patient and depends on a variety of factors. However, most will observe some improvement in skin texture by the 2nd or 3rd week after treatment and the maximal effects after 3 months.
Vampire facial aftercare advice
To give the plasma a chance to be fully reabsorbed by the skin and encourage healing, there are a few aftercare tips we encourage. This includes:
- Avoiding scrubbing, wiping, or touching the face vigorously for the first 6 hours
- Choosing warm water over very hot or very cold temperatures, including when bathing or showering. You should also avoid sun exposure if possible.
- Sleeping on your back with pillows to raise your head to minimise pressure and bruising.
You should also protect the skin from irritation by:
- Skipping swimming in pools or exercising
- Harsh skin treatments
- Scratching, peeling, or picking at the treatment site
- Cleaning anything that be in contact with your face, such as phones, glasses, and masks, etc
There is also a benefit to reducing or staying away from substances that suppress the healing process, such as caffeine, alcohol, smoking, and NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs), including ibuprofen and aspirin.
